A note from the judges about the competition

Judges (L to R): Shri Pratap Bhosale, Smt Rashmi Urdhwareshe, Shri Dinkar Gojare, Shri Namdev Barapatre.

About the entries

We were so happy to see so many school and college students, as well as participants from open category enthusiastically propose solutions to improve safety. We had not really expected such a charged up atmosphere... we were happily surprised!

How did we rate the entries?

In view of the Pedestrian Policy approved by PMC last year, and also the recently approved Pune Bicycle Plan, the theme this year was "Safety of Pedestrians and Cyclists". Though solutions to improve traffic safety scored good marks, we gave special consideration to solutions to improve safety of pedestrians and cyclists.

Solutions that can be implemented across the city, rather than solutions specific to a given location carried extra weightage. And of course, the overall quality of the model as well as how the solution was explained is also important.
